Mr Simon Dulku is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon based at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham. He is the lead Surgical Glaucoma Consultant at the QE and the Clinical Service Lead for Ophthalmology for University Hospitals Birmingham.
Mr Dulku undertook his preclinical medical training at Cambridge University and his clinical training at Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals in London. He obtained his fellowship of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists in 2011.
Mr Dulku completed 2 years of fellowship training in Surgical Glaucoma at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London and was briefly a locum consultant there before taking up his post in Birmingham where he was tasked with setting up a surgical and laser glaucoma service.
The Queen Elizabeth now offers the full range of glaucoma lasers and surgery, including SLT laser, iStent minimally invasive glaucoma surgery, trabeculectomy and tube surgery. Currently, Mr Dulku is leading in the implementation of a telemedicine solution for glaucoma to increase patient access to diagnostic tests.”
